I have not much time today.... so I'll just tell you the gist of this week.
We had 2 exchanges in my area this week. It was actually really fun. Since I'm in a trio, and they want companionship's to come to our area now, we had 5 sisters in Elma 2nd area for 2 days this week. We dragged 5 mattresses into our living room both times so we could all sleep, and we didn't get to bed quite on time either night... (what do you expect with 5 sisters in one room at a time?)
On Tuesday I spent the day with Sister Cox and Sister Skousen and we had a lot of fun going around Montesano and talking to people. We found a few frogs to pick up, and I saved a few worms while we were knocking, and we were able to hand out one Book of Mormon.
On Thursday I spent the day with Sister Dudas, who is from the Philippines, and she is so cute! She loves spiders, but she is TERRIFIED of frogs. There were lots of frogs out tonight ribbiting and that just scared her to pieces. She had her flashlight out and grabbed onto my arm. She's also afraid of Americans... so it was scary for her to come on exchanges with me (I'm scary) but she told me at the end of the day that I wasn't scary anymore. Phew! She is so sweet and I had a blast spending the day with her. She talks to literally EVERYONE that she sees and if she doesn't have time to tell them who we are she'll just say "Just know that God loves you!" from across the street.
She's a good example to me.
On Saturday, we had a baptism. Valerie and her two sons have been investigating the church for a few months and they've wanted to get baptized for a while but they keep going back and forth between Aberdeen and here so we've been team teaching her....which gets confusing and difficult sometimes. But it worked out, they made it to the baptism and everything was okay! :)
So that was our week. It was good. I really enjoyed it. :)
For my spiritual thought I thought I'd share what I've been studying for a training that Sister Sasser and I have to give tomorrow.
We've been thinking about how so often we feel inadequate to accomplish what we've been asked to do. Even Elder Rasband, Elder Stevenson, and Elder Renlund talked about how inadequate they feel to be called to the Quorum of the Twelve in general conference.
I love in D&C 1:23 that is says:
"That the fulness of my gospel might be proclaimed
by the weak and the simple unto the ends of the world.."
We truly are inadequate to accomplish anything on our own. Compared to God, we are nothing. But God WANTS us to join His team. He has asked us to help Him accomplish His work, despite our weaknesses. And so He'll help us overcome our weaknesses if we turn to Him.
Ether 12:27 tells us how to do that:
"And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness.
I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is
sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me;
for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I
make weak things become strong unto them."
So, there you go. Don't worry about your weaknesses. Turn to Christ. He's got your back. :) He wants you to succeed more than anyone else does.
Have a wonderful week everyone.! I love you all! And I'm grateful for your prayers!
Love, Sister Warburton
